friends...bloggers...crafty siestas...I have not quit creating just hit a brick wall. I am working on my photo situation this weekend but you know with all the Christmas hub bub whirling around my forgetful brain making the photo thing act right doesn't occur to me until I am at work...and then what's a girl to do? I can't upload pics from work...that would ummm be wrong?!?! I think...lol

SO...I haven't fell off the creative earthly world just yet...I am thinking once the holiday dust settles a bit I can make a huge creative comeback and share all that you have missed...maybe even come back and share life again...how amazing would that be. So just think of me as being on a Christmas break...ahhh yes, see me on the beach with my stamps and drink in hand? Yeah, now that sounds most excellent...much better than the craziness that has been my days of late.

I was blessed with some unkwown bug last week. It seems I lost a week of my life to fever & the bed! It was a nasty virus that was never identified- simply treated. I don't wish it on anyone...high fever that just wouldn't break (the worst 103.8!). I began to feel bad on Monday and by Tuesday I was one sick chick! My fever began to rise and nothing I did would make it drop...finally, after tests and ruling out some bad stuff (Thursday) antibiotics entered my system and I was on the mend!!!

Anywho...I hope my house is rid of all these nasty bugs for a long time.

Last weekend I spent my time at a Crop with my girlfriends...I have many pages for all my scrappin friends to see. Hopefully, I can get some of them shared with you over the next few days!

Hello everyone...it's almost FRIDAY!!! I so love this time of week. And this weekend we have big plans. The Emmaus Super Gathering is this weekend. Read about that here: http://www.pennyrileemmaus.com/. DH and I have been the happy planners for this event. I can't wait...

FYI: Curtie Bug is all better now!!! Yeah-I can't stand when the boys are sickly. Oh and the laptop did not die (yet)...it just had a connection malfunction- a little band-aid and it's all good again. I don't want to talk bad about it or my luck will make it die for good...just to be safe I put ALL my photos & major stuff on a couple of flash drives. Who knows why I didn't do that already- Oh...yeah...that would have meant taking time to do it. It's amazing what a little scare can do to a girl!

This is a photo of my lovely yard after the water leak- my neighbor's water leak!!! YEAH, tell me that's not pure crazy- her water line runs from the front of our yard to the back & it had to be ripped out. The result= neighbor's water works fabulously, our yard= U-G-L-Y! After a ton of work (yeah on our part) and then some funds for new grass seeds it will all be ok! Can you tell I am calm?!?! that's 'cause DH already got an ear full and did all the chit chatting before I arrived. He didn't want me to get on my soapbox! grrrr

a little creativity...I adore this little sweetness! I am sharing a couple of the cards I made for this past month's CCD (my monthly challenge w/gf's). I wanted a simple bg...so I used scalloped circles of patterned paper. I believe that little gal is from SU! but don't hold me to it as I rec'd her in the challenge. I used some deco scissors, added some ribbon, a fluttery critters w/bling brad, some dew droplets, & a couple stamps (PTI & SU!) and this baby was ready to mail!

PRAYER REQUEST:
Since I don't know if they would want their names listed we will just use first names. Bob is in CCU and not doing too well-his wife & I work together. Really wonderful people- please keep them in your prayers! Also, pray for Duane & his family. He lost his wife this week (this is my co-worker's brother). This has been a hard week for this family...If you will keep them in your prayers I would greatly appreciate it! Blessings to you and yours!

What a week!

Good Morning...my stamping...blogging friends.

The hacienda is back to "cool" again! WHEW *wipes brow* That sure was a rought day & night dealing with no air...it's a good thing I wasn't born before a/c, not so sure I could have handled the heat. Funny thing is I *LOVE* the beach. Makes zero sense...beaches have no air conditioning units on them. *rolls eyes at self* I was a bit nervous as to the cost of repairing our a/c unit...but when the tech handed me the bill and it was under $100. I quickly wrote the check and sent him happily on his way before his mind was changed!!!

We have had a couple of "BUGS" hit our house the last couple of days.

**First, my laptop apparently has the roll over and die BUG. It just went off on it's own while I was typing and has yet to come back to life. I fear it may have to be laid to rest soon. It has been having a few hiccups lately and the motherly instincts were telling me a BAD BUG was coming. Unfortunately, the brain child (ummm me) that owns this laptop did not have her stuff on discs...photos included. YEAH...can we say S-T-U-P-I-D? It's heartbreaking...but I couldn't get the burner to work on that computer and hadn't took time to do anything else. BAD BAD ME makes for a SAD SAD ME!

**Second, my Curtie Bug got a Sinus BUG and we had to stay home yesterday. He has a sinus infection and was feeling quite yucky. Thankfully, after taking much medicine he is doing much better today.

Hopefully, all the "Bugs" (except Curtie Bug) will LEAVE our hacienda! ;o)

EEK! Just when you think all is well in your own little world...the devil slings out a stab at cha. It's a holiday...a fantabulous extra day off...a beautiful day to enjoy...and booyah the air conditioner decides to take labor day off! What the HEY?!?! IT's HOT...this is not good. DH made a good-hearted attempt at getting someone over today but that was so not gonna happen and why would it...people are off on...Hello. Labor Day! I hope everyone else had a wonderful & safe holiday weekend. WE will find out our fate or rather our wallets fate tomorrow...it doesn't look or smell purty...let me just tell ya in advance. Praying for something minor. Seriously my birthday is next Saturday and a new ac unit is not on the Wish List!

Here's a few cards that I made using an easy peasy affordable $1 card kit from Target (pronounced Tar Jaay by me...sounds much classier). I do love the bright colors of these two little kits. There were many little things inside to entertain a crafty creative sort.

I really didn't add much to the kits...just some ribbon and a few flowers...some glitter via a gel pen. Pretty sweet little sets I thought.

STL (St. Louis) & EIS Swap

Here's a few awesome views...I took these when our family & church fam went to St. Louis for the annual Christian Family Day at the park. WE watched a fantastic (& hot) ballgame. It's always great to see Pujols play...amazing talent that man has along with the rest of his team. After the game it was time for the "free" concert by Casting Crowns and testimonials by the team members (Pujols included). Our fam loves Casting Crowns...one of my most favorite songs is East to West and an all-time Christian fav (by them as well) is If We are the Body. Ok...so really I like all their songs. Megan (vocalist) of CC has the most awesome voice (besides our girl Randa). Their drummer, Andy, rocks the drums like none other...and of course Mark, the lead singer, has an amazing voice. Check them out here.

See my little bug (Curtis) trying not to look down!!! He's not a fan of heights...especially when he realizes just how high up he really is. We had to move that baby away from the edge pretty quick so he wouldn't freak out on us.

Here's the family...WE truly enjoyed a HOT day at the park!

Now on to a swap I participated in on embellish-online.com. It was a Summer Themed Swap and this is what I came up with. I whipped these babies out just a few days before the deadline...that's me working my best under pressure. Seriously...I was convinced I had like tons more time...HELLO! Once again I was late...thankfully forgiven and my swap was still accepted (apparently I wasn't the only one with crossed wires or is it a crazy mind?!?!). I decided to make post-it note holders and I really do love the way these turned out. I attempted to incorporate a ribbon at the top but decided it was just overkill...I enjoy patterns...immensely...the brighter the better. IMO these matched up well. Let me know what you think.

Recycling a lovely thought...(aka:card)

This is the original card that I used to create the tag and card below. It was sent to DH and I for our anniversary (7th anniversary/May 5th). I found the card again not long ago and decided to revive it. See what you think of my creative use of this card. BTW, on the back of the card was the same flower image that was on the front only smaller...see if you can find where I used it? *wink*

I suppose you figured out by now where both images were used. I also ripped apart some instructions...which is what I used for the background on the card. Talk about recycling...I seriously got down and dirty with the frugal for these two creative items.

I love the way the baubles (or dew drops if you will) turned out on the tag and the card...they add much character. Oh and just in case you didn't notice...only one stamp was used...happy birthday from one of my PaperTrey Ink stamp sets.

One day while sorting laundry...Smokey snuck in past the "watch dog" (ha! yeah right...he watched the kitty walk right past him). I'm sure Smokey wanted to rub it in Roo's face that he could and would sneak in now and then.

As I get ready to throw laundry into the dryer ummm this cute nosey critter is what I found inside. Curiousity gets the cat ya know! I so wanted to turn it on to get his reaction but that would be just plain mean! So I took photos of "Mr. Nosey" instead. This cat and his personality is just too hilarious some days...check out the poses I caught on digi!

Today has been a very enjoyable Saturday. Kind of laid back with spurts of work to do. Don't we always have that? I did do a bit of stampin today that I will share tomorrow.

Sunday shall be much busier than today as we have an Awana Mtg., Beth's bible study, and then church tomorrow night as well as church in the am. No rest for the weary...it's a good thing I napped today!

Meet Smokey...the cat!

Meet Smokey...our precious little boy. The poor one that the dog secretly makes fun of...Smokey has to live outdoors as we are allergic to his fur. Smoke has such a wonderful disposition. He has so much personality...he loves to entertain anyone that will pay attention. The silly thing makes his rounds daily- visiting several of our neighbors. I guess he is a bit of a socialite.

This photo is a bit shaky but still you can see that sweet, sweet face. Smokey greets anyone that arrives at our home and escorts them along the walk to the door. What a sweetheart we have been blessed with!

I just updated Group 21 for the SBS Blog (sisterhoodofthestampingbloggers.blogspot.com). It just amazes me how many ladies and groups there are now...I already began Group 22 with a few members...can you say WOW?!?! What an amazing way to bring our love for creativity and friendships together. I just love helping with that.

SO...I have been a bit under the weather. The Dr. told me to stay home and rest today. EEK I don't take off to be "sick" but she advised me it would be best especially with a low-grade fever and such. I feel much better now and SO look forward to seeing what kind of shape my desk is in tomorrow. NOT! (smile)

I have several creative items to share but at the moment I am too tired (and lazy) to download pics so that can just wait until another day.

VBS Y-E-S!!!

Ok...so as much joy as it brings me to sing that song...someone should have reminded me that VBS x1 week would be fabulous...but crazy little ole me has said YES to 2 weeks of VBS. Yeah...I know, someone must have hit me in the head and caused some damage or something.

I have to say after day two (8 to go) I am feeling truly blessed to teach 18 little 5 & 6 year olds. WE pray in a circle together each night. Last night I gathered them and gave instructions on how to pray in the circle and volunteer to pray...their prayers are so strong...it truly blesses my heart to hear them each night. AND even more so when the children that wouldn't pray the night before do the next night. I am hoping to have at least 15 praying by Friday night!

Oh my gosh...I forgot to share the great news...I talked DH (Hunny Bunny) into helping with Missions. He has been such a trooper and doing an amazing job. I am so proud!

On a sad note...my grandson (little guy on the left in the photo below) has moved with his Mom to NC. His step-father re-enlisted in the army and they had to move. So sad...but we will get to see him just not as often. At least they didn't move out-of-the-country!
Kyle & Curtie Bug (let me just say I am milking that nickname for as long as he will let me!)

ARE they CUTE or WHAT? Curtis thinks it is the coolest thing ever to be an Uncle at his age! And Kyle thinks Curtis is the best Uncle ever!

CCD June- Which One???

Remember those little seek-n-find games? Well, let's see what looks like the other on these two cards. Yes, they are quite similiar but yet there are some small (and big) differences. So, tell me which one you prefer. DH & Curtis (my little guy) says the first one but I am still quite undecided as I love both of them...

Oh and did you find any differences? I wonder if anyone will even notice a few of them...

I have oogled MFT stamps sets for a while but wasn't sure if they were quite my style...I mean the poor things have no head! HELLO! My first reaction was, "What the hey now is up with that?" lol

I participated in a giftage swap and lo and behold a secret friend of mine sent me this MFT stamp set...so I "had" to use it and see what I could do.

VOILA! ACETATE!!! jumped into my brain and CCD...poor girls didn't know what hit 'em. MY KY girls got phone call after phone call from our Cali girls wanting to know what to do with "this stuff". he he he I was at work & rec'd zero phone calls! *big grin* (Thanks J & LuLu)

FYI: Some of you may have noticed that I do a monthly CCD with friends accross the country (Cali, KY & WA). This month was my month to send out images to use. I was a bit ummm difficult and sent out images on acetate. Mind you...not such a bad thing except for the newbie stampers in our CCD Group! tsk tsk...shame on me...I just couldn't help myself though.

Here's a card I had a great time creating. These Wholy Cow Rub-Ons from Basic Grey are so awesome to use. I love to add color and make parts of the rub-on pop. A friend looked at this card and was convinced it was a stamp! Yeah...they're just that stinkin cool!

I simply used a bit of ink to enhance the empty spaces on this lovely rub-on...the rest is pretty self-explanatory. Basic Grey paper and the word "hello"...a few layers and there you have it.

There is not one actual stamp used on this card...shhh don't tell my babies...just let 'em think they got a break!

These lovely Iris' came from my dh's grandmother's flower garden. He and his family share ownership of the land that was once their grandparents. Last year we all went to do some clean-up at the old homeplace. DH dug up flowers for us to plant and this year the Iris' are so beautiful. See my son replanting his prized plant? He has a 50 lb cabbage plant that he put right in with the Iris' and he had to move it as it was growing so quickly. His motivation for this fun planting project of his...$1000 college scholarship for the best grown cabbage. Wish him luck! If you look closely you can actually see Curt's cabbage plant peeking out from under the flowers.

EIS Design Team Call for August Announced!

I am so excited to share this announcement with my bloggin friends. PLEASE APPLY...do not cut yourself short and think you shouldn't apply: you really should try! Just jump out in faith and try it! You will be so glad you did. The experience is totally worth it. Barb is such a sweetheart to work with.

Some news for all you designers out there! Embellish-Online is now accepting applications for their Design Team. It takes a lot of work and commitment but is also a lot of fun. Being on a design team seems to stretch your creativity in ways you never knew you could go. Do you have the time to commit to not only crafting 4 projects a month, but also to creating one challenge each month or so and being active on the EO forum?

If so this may be right up your alley!The ideal applicant will of course be super talented when it comes to paper crafting, and be active on the crafting forums, or have a blog so that people can see their creations. Photography skills are needed to best showcase work. He or She will be comfortable working with patterned paper and clear stamps, and love to try out new products. You do not need to have ever been on a design team before - fresh faces are welcome!

I just wanted to share some creative fun and catch up with my siestas. YEP I'm still alive and kickin! *grin* I know I have been MIA for a bit but I was adjusting to working outside of our home again. It's going really well, btw. I really enjoy my job and I love learning new tasks (daily so it seems). I do tons of billing...tons of phone calling...and well just tons of things during the day. I could go into detail but I know you gals wanna see some stampin action.

Here's a little something:

Forgive the bad photo...I really like the way this turned out...the quote is funny to me because of the fact that the butterfly is talking but it's a great quote if you forget that it's a flying critter supposedly being so insightful.

Here's the quote:

Both of these cards were super quick to make. The quotes are from a pack of quotes by Sara Branch. I did not use any stamps on either of these due to the fantastic quotes that were so sweetly decorated. I made the quote the focal point and added some Basic Grey, ribbon, and a few embellies. Seriously simple! I am getting so much better at utilizing my time and making things with a simplier style. Sometimes it hurts me but then some days I make creations I truly treasure.

This box was made for my son's birthday. He saw me working on it but thought it was for his Daddy. lol He even asked what "Genuine" meant. I explained briefly and then he thought it was cool..."being an original" he thought fit Daddy well. Silly boy it is him that is an original! An original copy of his Mom! Poor kid!

my new J-O-B

Hello friends...I have made a huge change in my life- I have gone back to work outside of our home. I have been the very blessed owner of a Home Daycare for 5 years. I recently decided it was time to get a job outside of our home. Some have asked me how I did this for so long. I tend to believe it was God's plan that I be here for my children. Now that they are older it is time for me to do something else- something with a stable pay scale, vacation & sick days, and adult interaction. I have thoroughly enjoyed the daycare and being a part of all the children's lives. I will continue to be a part of their lives just not on a daily basis. Don't worry I didn't just kick everyone to the curb or anything. I made sure the children I was still keeping (which was only a few- mostly part-time) was placed comfortably under new care...so it's all good.

I will write more later- now I am just worn out! I have already worked 4 days and I am lovin it! The super cool part was that I had today off!!! Good Friday was seriously a good Friday. I spent it with friends- stamping and DH spent the day on the golf course with friends. The boys had to go to school to make-up all the days they missed for inclement weather and the fire at the Elementary school earlier this year. Anywho- it was awesome to have a day off without children!

Hugs to all and I will try my best to get on here every couple of days. I have tons of cute stuff to share. I just have to take time to upload it to my computer.

I just love this layout...is it adorable or what? I believe I found the inspiration for it on texasjodylynn's blog...but I also found the exact flower at Target in the card section. They are just so stinkin cute.

The paper I used had raised velvet flowers...the yellow ribbon holds the card shut. I am going to send this out as a challenge to some friends soon. I have to see what they come up with. I loved playing with this layout/template.

I have many a project to complete this lovely snowed in weekend! Expect much creativity shared over the next couple of days...I need to finish up a few projects for EIS (Embellish-Online.com) and some swaps that I am in need to be completed and go postal.

Oh btw...my Curtie Bug has been a total crack-up over this snow. WE ventured out to gather our snow and he asked, "why did you scrape that snow off?" Well...Hello my dear little man...WE want CLEAN SNOW to eat! lol He had to remember what Snow Cream tasted like but lemme tell ya he gobbled down two bowls and was begging for more. The snow plow came down our road and CB got mad and yelled at them...."You big meanie!" He didn't want the snow to be disturbed...he wishes it to stay for many days. His birthday is on Monday and that little guy is prayful that school is out due to the snow for his big day. He will be turning 9. UGH! I hate that...I want him tiny again. Birthday's are so hard on us Mom's.

Snow Dancin'....

My boys have been dying for some snow cream all winter...Many of you have heard them complain through me. lol

After school today we all did the snow dance....and OMG I think it may work. We are supposed to get 6 inches by Friday and by Saturday we are forcasted to have up to 10 inches. WOWZA! When we do a snow dance...we mean business!

I was just complaining about the fact that the kiddos hadn't even had enough snow this year to make snowmen nor could we have snow cream. Even DH was unhappy that this winter-time treat had yet to grace our spoons (& bowls). So sad! But alas, wish and ye shall receive...in an abundance (so they say). It's late...late...late as usual the night owl is up (stoopid tummy issues)...I just looked outside and so far there is no white stuff blessing our grassy winter mess!

The Bunny (dh) told me that by noon it should be here...I seriously have no desire to wait that long. I hope that they figure out the school thing early in the am. My guys are counting on sleeping in and then waking up to SNOW!

Maybe I should do that silly dance again before I give it up for the night?!?!?

COME ON SNOW! We have ice salt and our bowls are so beyond ready!!!

This gift was made as a decoration to adorn my D(S)D's wall with...

This gift was made using round coasters as the base. Layers of Designer Paper create a unique look. A few punches, ribbon, and bling brads complete this creation.
I wanted to show a close-up so you could see what the layers look like up close. I topped the flower off (in the middle) with a clear Dew Drop. Love these colors...they make for a very elegant presentation.
My step-daughter performed last week...She was in Your A Good Man, Charlie Brown. I just knew this would be a perfect gift for her as she loves black and white together. Our sweet girl ditched the power of pink years ago. You should have saw me cringe when she announced that she despised the color *PINK*...It had only been a few years before that everything we bought her *had* to be PINK! LOL

I suppose we can't all love the ever popular PINK!

Gifts for the KY/TN Gathering on March 1st...this Saturday! *so very happy*

This gift is almost finished...it just needs one more item on the front but I thought I would share a sneak peek at just one of the gifts I made/altered to bring.

This paper block has been so much fun to work with. I love using black & white together...with the added gold & brown tones...it's a delightful color palette.

Notice what I used as a trinket holder? Ok, so they are embellies but "trinket" sounded too cute. I snagged the box from one of our boys...there was still candy in it but I decided it was time to empty out the chocolates into a zippy. This is a much less expensive version of these cute little boxes you find to buy everywhere. I love to pick my own "trinkets" to share.

I hope everyone else likes this gift...it's not all I have made but just one I was totally lovin and had to share. There will be more sneak peeks over the next few days.

Good Evening! I just wanted to share the card I made for my monthly CCD swap with my Diva GF's. Our hostess this month sent out these lovely Inky Antics girlfriends on craft paper. Our girl, Sherry, was giving us a run for our money this month. I really like the way mine turned out but it took some time to figure out what I wanted to do with my images. I went bright!

I did a bit of doodling around the circle and then I added the dots around the scalloped insides of the circle.

Happy Saturday! WE are slightly active today (i get so tired of saying the "b" word: BUSY)...not bad at least we were able to relax a bit this morning and hang out with friends. Well just Curtie Bug and I. The rest of the guys were gone for most of the day. Now's it is time for Curtis' Upward Basketball game. They are undefeated!!! But they don't officially take score as it is more for the learning and good sportmanship at this time...but still the boys keep up with the score pretty well on their own.

I have an email that DH sent to me that simply struck my tickle bone today. I must share it with everyone...even if you have already read this one pretend to laugh out loud just as did for my sake! *grin*

Subject: estate planning

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I still have some more projects/cards to share that I created for Valentine's Day. I will add them later. I just wanted to be the first to wish you a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

This is always a big holiday for DH and I. When we worked together (where we first met) he would sneak into work everyday before I got there and shower my desk with gifts. Our first V-day I rec'd something everyday for about 5 days up until Valentine's Day. It was so sweet. I warned him that he was going to have to keep it up every year and he really has done a wonderful job. He always surprises me with something super romantic and thoughtful on Valentine's Day.

I seriously should photograph all my goodies. I have kissing bears, kissing monkey's...both sets respectfully from Hallmark. I think he has his sights set on this year's pooches. We shall see. I have rec'd bouquets of flowers, a gorgeous plant simply because I think flowers are a bit over rated and don't last. Candy, gourmet chocolates and one of my favorite all-time gifts was a gold rose. He finally found a way for me to keep a rose for a lifetime! It's gorgeous and stays on our entertainment center...I will share a photo of it later. It's quite unique. Another fav was when DH sent me a Vermont Teddy Bear...he is precious! I got so tickled at the box the bear arrived in...it has air holes. So cute.

We will soon find what my Hunny Bunny comes up with this year. Mind you he is sick and I have been medicating him all evening hopefully by tomorrow he will feel up to keeping up his tradition of making Valentine's Day so special for me (us). Honestly, he would be heartbroken if he was not able to do anything. He is the one who makes it such a big day in our lives.

Me, I have already given him his gifts...A new pair of Crocs and a fleece pullover from the Big Dog Store 'cause he is my Big Dog! (awww) I also have another small gift for him but that can't be shared just yet. *wink* (like he really reads these posts but jic I shall remain secretive)

Gram's "hugs" Card

Happy Valentine's Day!

My Mom is always so good about sending out cards and remembering birthdays, etc. She told me that she was sending out Valentine's cards to several friends...Gram...and some other family members. So, she highly suggested I use my skills to send Gram a little love via the V-day mail.

I decided on something simple since Gram is not into all that crazy stuff that I love so much. I already had the base of the card made so I decided to add the heart ribbon, scalloped oval, hugs ticket, and prima with the jewel brad...several of the items I used came from my wonderful DSS Swap that I shared yesterday.

Check out this beauty! Thanks so much to my SBS2 Big Sis! She has been such an awesome and thoughtful Big Sis. She must have known how much I enjoyed making the dahlia's...how sweet of her to make me such a unique dahlia card! Love it and the colors...YUMMO!

Some of my cyber friends know that I had been preparing for a devotional and I just wanted to let everyone know that it went really well. I really enjoyed it. I was nervous during the skit that I did but the rest was just fine. I am kind of looking forward to doing a devo again soon...possibly at my own church!

I couldn't sleep. I was still trying to unwind from a busy and quite long day of activity. I found this tag on Maria's blog and thought why not...I don't have enough energy for anything else at the moment.

The Giftage...Dahlia Style

I am in hopes that the giftage recipient won't venture here before she is allowed to open her package...We have to wait until the 10th. STINKY! But so worth it I'm sure.

Now my friend, K, is not exactly a big Pink fan but it is seriously a chore to keep "pink" out of Valentine's Day. So there are just hints of pink (as I like to call it) here and there. Love, love this dahlia technique and thank the heavens above my best girl LuLu read the directions...'cause this sistah don't do directions. I prefer photos or to figure it out on my own. Yep, you guessed it if I take something apart and have extra parts well...umm it might just work a bit differently when I'm done with it. *grin*

I know it's seriously simple but I loved this gift bag once I got finished with it...I don't think it really looks that "pink" in person. Gosh I should have sent more of a totally different color to counteract all this (let's call it a version of red instead of pink)....red!!! How cute is that little flower? Who couldn't love a "blue" heart of all things?

K, here's the "giftage set"! I hope she likes it. The cork board was so suh-weet all decked out. Oh and my most favorite of this set is the little notepad holder on the side.

Shhh don't tell K but it was FREE. My Mom gave it to me...underneath all it's loveliness it has something catchy about donating blood. Mom is an angel when it comes to giving blood and they love her for it...she has universal type & has donated many, many gallons over the years! Go MOM! Me, I can't donate I have this ugly problem with passing out and getting sickly. It's not from the site of the needle or anything like that...it's my crazy body thinking it has a mind of it's own. I guess my body doesn't want to share because I was told not to ever try to donate again!

Friends...Sisters...I must apologize for not keeping up with my blog but I have let life and many other commitments get in the way. I am on my back to "normal" if that is completely possible in my life. Believe me- I plan for life to be as "normal" as possible.

I am missing my bloggin time...my scrappin & stampin time with my girlfriends...and just time for myself period. I will be back and ready to post something lovely by Friday.

Now let me explain before I share what I created with this fabulous site. This is a blast to experiment with...the possibilities are endless and I can definitely see using this site for some other creative fun stuff. A huge TAG...that I love...

I rec'd a Huge Tag book for Christmas from my gf and decided I had to recreate it myself. I just marked the sizes on my 8.5 x 11" chipboard and made my own Hugemongo Tag.

I sponged the BG with white craft ink...once it was dry I sponged with a layer of Shimmer Paint.
Next I went to work on my Maya Road Flourishes (find them here: http://www.embellish-online.com/item_571/Sheer-Flourishes-Clear-Maya-Road.htm). I wanted to test out my Cuttlebug (buy it here: http://www.embellish-online.com/category_33/Cuttlebug.htm) with the flourishes and let me just say the results were fabulous! I added some white ink and Stickles to bring out the details of the embossed flourishes. I used clear adhesive along with a bit of glitter to adhere the flourishes to the Basic Grey paper (Perhaps can be found here:http://www.embellish-online.com/item_332/Perhaps-6x6-Paper-Pad-Basic-Grey.htm). All paper used was from this paper pad except for the white glossy cardstock for the words.

This is just a close-up of the flourishes...the Cuttlebug did an amazing job! I shall have to try this technique more often.

Baby It's Cold Outside!

I loved the theme for this month! Cold...and it sure was last week but today we have a gorgeous 70 degrees to enjoy! Gotta love this KY weather. ;*)

Finally, a card...

A super fast card with only two layers. I stamped the BG with an SU! mini BG stamp using white craft ink. I did the same with the PaperTrey snowflake to complete the background. The snowman's scarf & face is colored in with metallic gel pens (blended using an H20 Brush). The body of the snowman is colored with a shimmery pearl paint mixed with a bit of Liquid Applique. The snowman is popped up for a bit of interest....this was a very quick and simple card to make. Peace was stamped with Burgundy ink. The snowman is from Gina K.

It's hard to believe that '08 is already here! I pray that you had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year...safe and blessed. Ours was quiet and relaxing...just the way we like it.

I suppose it's time to start thinking about what our goals are for '08. I already have a list...not to mention a mental list for my guys. *evil grin*

a delightful Saturday...

Don't you just love the rush of the holiday season? Ok, so some days not so much but for the most part the hustle and bustle is right up my alley. This weekend I took a day to stamp with friends...It was FABULOUS! Now this wasn't my normal group of gals but I had the pleasure of meeting a new stamping friend and hang out with an old stamping friend. Unfortunately none of my hometown girls could go with me...though they were missed, I really enjoyed a day away from my guys!

We had the most awesome lunch...which was a treat in itself. Here's where we ate... The Looking Glass which is convenietly located next to Memories in Bloom. Let me just tell ya the dessert was "to die for"! Seriously, the girls and I each chose a different dessert and then we shared...YUMMO! New York cheesecake, Turtle Cheesecake, and of course a rich chocolate cake that can be seen in the photo on the restaurant's website. I'm not sure what the name of the chocolate cake is but let me just say it was delightful.

A girl can never get enough of days like this one...I was not the most productive gal in the bunch but I did get just under 30 Christmas cards underway...I will share a finished product tomorrow.

The Easter family sing on several of the Gaither's Reunion shows. This is an awesome song and the words really touched me. I thought this would be a wonderful addition to our Christmas cards this year...of course, I added a verse to the cards that I will also share very soon.

Here's my Star Punch Card that I teased about a few days ago. I really like the process of making this card...it's quite fun to do and very intriguing to my boys. They thought I was uber impressive to be able to create this project....woo hoo for pedestal's in our babes eyes. *wink*

Notes on my EO upload:
I *had* to try this fabulous star made with punches. Let me just say they are uber fun to make but be prepared because it takes a ton o' paper...I'm still looking for a better way to accomplish the same look using less paper.

I completed my rockin-awesome star (REALLY it is!) and then sought out the perfect sketch. Found that on SCS...I cut my Figalicious Figgy PP and layered up my card. Added ribbon to the side, a super-cute BG tag from a set I had on hand, and as always some BLING! This BLING consisted of K&Co's jewels, glitter, and VOILA I was done.

I hope you like my first-evah star punch card. Muchos Gracious for checking it out!

O' Christmas Tree...Origami Style

My girl Cindy (aka: Mothermark) introduced this technique to me and wouldn't you know it my home town siesta had just finished trying out the technique. So yesterday we got together with our sweet Joanna and tried out the origami technique. Of course I had a new technique I had learned and we just had to make a card using that one too...I will share more on it later.

I used paper from my gf's paper pack so I'm not sure what brand it is...I'm thinking DCWV a Christmas pad of sorts. There were no stamps used on this card. WOW! Total sadness I know...I decided the Merry Christmas on the PP was enough. Of course there's BLING on it! Whatever is a girl to do if creates without BLING?!?! FYI: I used Stampendous Class A Stickers...

As I type this the last few days have been a total whirlwind and I feel as if I am still on that cloud (nine, ya know). Finally, I got brave enough to apply to a Design Team call (thanks Cindy). I found out Friday before I left for a Women's Ministry Conference that I had been asked to be on the team! Talk about a squeeling Mama!!! I think they heard me hollering in the next county as I read the list on SCS.

Flyin beauties...

Here's a few altered plaque's that I made as gifts. My girlfriend just made up a few with Christmas themes that turned out beautifully. I'm a butterfly addict so here's what I came up with when I found these little deco cuties at the store on clearance and saw much potential.

I definitely did a bit of glittering on these babies. The butterly is from an SU! set (Wonderful Wings) that I had wanted for a long time. I finally picked it up at an SCS gathering in Collinsville, IL. WOO HOO

I used several layers of patterned paper. The final layer is an awesome cream shimmer cardstock that I love to use with the Cuttlebug (as you can see). For the butterflies...I embossed them with glitter ep, cut them out, folded them a bit to give the fluttery effect. Oh yes and there's some poppin action goin on underneath those fluttering beauties.

Let me know what you think of these. I am getting more and more into altered art and I have to say these were a blast to beautify.

I just thought I would share a card that I made a while ago. I thought it turned out pretty well. I used scrap paper (the yellow & rust was cuttlebugged), I stamped the SU! image onto Whisper White and then used the gamsol technique with Prisma Pencils on the image. I also added a bit of glitter using glitter gel pens. A technique in which I am utterly addicted to...it's the easiest and fastest way I have found to add some BLING!

My First Criss/Cross Card

This is my first Criss/Cross Card. I have loved the cards made using this technique many times but I finally decided to try it myself.

I used SU! Paper sent to me from a swap. I scattered punched flowers on the inside to make it more whimsical. I did do a bit of stamping with some flourish stamps just to add a bit of beauty. I do like the way this card turned out. It took some time to get it to a pretty state...and of course I had to add some glitter.

Sorry to be MIA for so long but last week was a rough ride. I had Strep Throat and let me just say it kicked my bootay! Thanks for all my girls for checking on me and a HUGE THANK YOU to LuLu for staying with me last Monday when I felt like I was dyin. UGH! Lu you are an awesome Dr. Much love~

I was able to still work the Emmaus Walk this past weekend and it was AWESOME! There was one girl that was saved and a few rededications. This was an amazing bunch of ladies that went on this walk...one of which was a young lady that I graduated with. It was so much fun to chat and catch up with Stacy (Love ya girl!).

I wish all the ladies of the Pennyrile Emmaus Walk #53 many, many blessings for every fourth-day to come. God Loves ya girls and so do I!Thanks so much to my girls for helping me get Agape ready for the Women's Walk...the next walk will be in April of next year and it is sure to be fabulous!

YSC07R3 - Yucky Swaparoo Coodinators 07 Round 3 Challenge

This is my card created for the DSS Coordinator Yucky SwapARoo...I had a blast altering the goodies I was sent by AJ. She did a fantastic job sending a variety of supplies that I love.

On my first attempt at putting it all together it was most definitely some "YUCKY" results...but after much altering and playing with different mediums it turned out to be ok.

My gallery includes all the ingredients. I tried to edit the details but SCS is turtle slow the afternoon...So, here's the deets:

I stamped the Leigh-Hannan (Impression-Obsession) BG stamp onto the Real Red CS, using lavender ink and onto the craft CS with Real Red ink. I added the designer edged paper (from a Cosmo Cricket kit) onto the left side and top of the craft CS. I stamped with Black StazOn ink onto the shimmery white CS and inked the edges creating a "faux layer". Then layered with another piece of shimmery white (when I mounted the two pieces). The bottom layer is "popped" using DS foam adhesive. The snowman's body was texturized using a mixture of mediums (Liquid Applique, tacky adhesive, and Pearl Paint). I heated the snowman's body with the heat gun which resulted in a bubbly effect. Gel pens were used on the scarf and the button brads, and other pieces of cardstock. I added the embellishments and VOILA...I was FINALLY satisfied.

Gram's BD Card

Here's the birthday card I made for my Gram! I completely failed to share this last month.

I recently purchased this stamp set and I thought I would experiment a bit with gamsol and Prisma's. I also used a glitter pen to make it sparkle for Gram!

I used two different camera's to take the photos and just had to share the difference's of each one. The true colors of the flowers can be seen in the second photo..

I kinda jumped in at the last minute so I didn't even realize my page was for Mini Maps...Here's my page:

I had such a great time creating this page. I adore these photos. WE had even planned to take photos like this before Kyle was born. They turned out even more beautiful than we could have imagined them to be. Of course at the planning stages,of a true scrapbooker, the little guy hadn't even been born yet!!!

My colors are actually shades of red, both light and dark but here they seem to look purple-ish.

G.Baby was typed and printed out using my computer and then I carefully cut out the letters, leaving a bit of white to make it pop. The font is English111 Vivace BT. Yeah a bit technical but I loved the results as the emphasis was to be on the "G".

All the paper came from the same block of patterned paper. Sorry, I forget the name of it.

Stamps used were from Paper Trey Ink (leaves) and Inque Boutique (journaling lines)

Journaling: is in my own handwriting and so is "Kyle"

"Adore" is a ChipBoard Embellishment (FYI: I inked the edges to match the page.)

Halloween Hauntings

This card was for this week's sketch challenge (SC142) on SCS.

I used some pre-stamped images from a friends Halloween set (Home is Where the Haunt Is). I personally own very few Halloween stamps and definitely no sets of them. As I said on SCS I gave myself a bit of a bonus challenge as the only holiday stamps I get somewhat "into" is Christmas. I *made* myself try a holiday card. I still used some of my favorite colors though.

1st Layer: Only Orange (SU!), 2nd Layer: Light Lavender beautifully embossed paper (s0rry can't remember the brand), 3rd Layer: Shimmer Black CB'd, 4th Layer: Only Orange, CB'd and flipped over to reveal the negative embossed side, 5th Layer (Small rectangular piece): Same as the 3rd layer, 6th Layer: Same as the 4th and on top of that layer is a knotted piece of gingham black ribbon....Then for the main image. 1st Layer: same as the 2nd above, Light Lavender distressed on the edges, 2nd Layer: reversed CB'd shimmer Black, the top layer with the stamped images is simply a light beige with "BOO" added on top of the Orange Moon...the "BOO" has 2 Only Orange eyelets for the "O's".

a Birthday Card from my Big Sis...

Here was the first card I received from my DSS Big Sis on SCS...I think this is quite lovely and the cupcakes have a very cool puffy effect. I am assuming liquid applique is what she used. The colors are fabulous...I have a bad habit of using pinks and purples all the time so I am quite pleased that my Big Sis used some other colors. This card arrived just in time for my Birthday along with some mint chocolate sticks and a super-cute monogrammed notepad. Thanks Big Sis!

lol, no I will not whine but I must say that I am not totally impressed with this age thing. I am turning 35!!! Yeah, EEK! I know...see not too impressive is it.

Seriously, it's not bothering all that much but I think I am at the age to where I should consider not sharing my age any longer. lol

Tomorrow I am going to see Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kay Arthur with my Mom, step-sister's, and several ladies from my church. I am extremely excited about this event. It is going to be an amazing weekend. WE leave early in the am for a day of shopping @ Opry Mills and then on to the event in the early evening. The big day will be Saturday...WHOO HOO and we will even get to hear Mandisa sing. The event is Deeper Still and I am sure to share all the deets when I return.

Life as it is...

Let's see...what's going on in my life these days?

I wonder if I can even share it all? Yeah it's busy around here these days.

Just got the boys back in school. High School and 3rd Grade. The girl has been ready for college for a few week's now. thankfully, Eddie survived that shopping trip! It was one crazy day. My HS'er is ok with the freshman thing. He seems to enjoy having "A" days and "B" days quite well. Of course, my child would figure out on the first day that having the days split up like that meant an extra day to complete homework. Smart kid! CB is adjusting to 3rd grade very nicely. He announced on Friday that,"his 3rd day of 3rd grade was his best ever school day!" Try saying that fast 3 times!

Randy and I have begun training for the upcoming Emmaus walks in October. What an inspirational boost that has been. I so love preparing and planning for this awesome faith filled weekend for the new pilgrim's.

In the midst of preparing for the Emmaus Walk(s) we will soon begin training for the Chrysalis Flight(s) to be held in January. Working with the youth is truly a blessing.. It is amazing to hear of their faith and love for Christ.

As Women's Director I am working on a trip to see Beth Moore next month on my birthday! I can't wait...it will be an amazing weekend for sure. My Mom and step-sisters are going with their church and I am going with my church. We will get to see each other there and I may even get a chance to spend the night with them. I am searching hi and lo to get someone to drive our church bus but if no one steps forward then I will be the lucky volunteer. Which I would be fine with but I am not used to driving such a monstrosity. Pray for us!

Also in September the Emmaus Super Gathering plans are underway. Randy and I are planning the children's activities. Backyard Bouncers, games, prizes, and lots of fun stuff.

Curtis has just signed up for Soccer again so that should busy us in the near future. Along with Upward Basketball to follow. Eddie and Curtis both are ready for Scouts to start again. Oh and I can't forget that we will begin Awana on September 5th. I can't wait to see my kiddos again. I assist with 4 & 5 year olds.

In the daycare I am awaiting the birth of a sibling. Avery should arrive next Monday by C-section and her big bro is super anxious to meet her (so is TiTi)! In October, we shall have another girl child born into our little angel crew. Kylar is also ready to meet his little sis.

So, today has been just one of those Monday's that one wishes not to do much physical activity. Stinkin sinus infection could be the culprit so I just took it easy today...taking meds every 4-6 hours as needed and BELIEVE ME...I NEEDED that and more! Gotta love those good allergy genes Mom passed along to me. (Love ya Mom!)

I noticed this cool new game on several blogs, one being Emily's. To play, just type your name + needs in quotation marks using the search engine(s) of your choice to locate the first 10 phrases that show up as a result. Some results can be quite hilarious while others are well, let's just say interesting ;0).

Here is the results of my searches utilizing two different search engines:

I chose my favs and of course being me...I had to do mine a bit different than most did.

oooh tired...my step-son says this all the time but with much feeling.

Just getting ready for my big weekend retreat...I can't wait.

My friends and I have planned a divalicious Scrappin Retreat on the lake. We will be scrappin all weekend and having a blast! PJ's, snacks, tons of scrappin, chatting, and gigglin...Weekends like this are such a treat! No one wanting or needing anything...just "me" time.

We are starting the day off with Coffee and Conversation. Breakfast, chit chattery, planning out the day, our menu...then off to finish up last minute stuff, pack up my delicious goodies (aka: rubbah, papah, pix, etc...), and then return to settle in for the weekend. AHH Bliss!

Getting Dirty with the girlz...

I accomplished one of the four Dirty Girl Challenges for the day! WAAHOO!!!

Here is my card for Anna's (SweetMissDaisy) animal challenge:

This card is for "My Puppy" (Curtie Bug, my youngest DS). When Curtis was little I used to call him my puppy because he followed me everywhere and he has always been a snuggly sweet little guy(and was either on my hip or in my lap). HE will not allow anyone else (8 years later) to be called a cute little puppy but him...CB says I'm the Puppy Momma and I am still your little shadow.

SUH-WEET as pie when he wants to be! It seriously stinks that they grow up so fast.

My little guy has red-hair thus the reason for adding a touch of red to the puppy! The outside of the card says: "My Puppy" and "Miss You" because Curtis has had a busy summer and spent almost 4 1/2 weeks away from me (different times of course, can't do be without him all at once!).

Card Frenzy Swap July 14, 2007
Stamps: CMTH Flourishes
CS: gray (base), yoyo yellow (1st layer), salmon (2nd layer), DCWV PP purple flowers, yoyo yellow, gray for the last layer
Ink: lavender lace, passion pink
Accessories: prima flower, pink ric rac, pop dots, a jewel, cuttlebug (divine swirls) was used for the 2nd layer

DIRECTIONS:
My card is pretty self-explanatory but I would like to suggest that you stamp the lavender swirl first and before cutting the small pieces with your paper cutter. This cut is also optional. The ric rac is simply taped with a tape runner and wrapped behind the top two layers of CS. I used pop dots under the small yoyo yellow layers.

Ok Kirstin...I'm game. I think. *rolls eyes & grins* Gosh thinking before bed can prove to be quite difficult.

7 things about moi:

1> I am a Jesus Freak! (this is the first thing that came to mind as my boys played that fabulous DC Talk song over and over again this weekend on the way to Grandma's).

2> My favorite time of day is after everyone goes to bed and I get "me time".

3> I love to sing!

4> I love the night air during the summertime...
